Here at the Reschexpert blog we want to discuss the most important item that you are going to need when creating a Rescheck, Manual J, Manual D, or Manual S from scratch, your plans.  These can be called prints, blue prints, submitals, sketches, drawings, schematics or many other slang and derivative combination of industry catch phrases.  They all serve the same purpose.  To give the people involved in your project an accurate look at what you are trying to accomplish in your new construction, addition, or alteration project.

The first type of plans that we see are drawn by an architect or draftsman.  These are electronic and we can open them on our computers before we print off a full size set of plans to calculate your Rescheck, Manual J, Manual S, or Manual D.  The preferred file type for electronic plans at Rescheck.info is a PDF mainly because cad files can contain corruptions and be difficult to view from version to version.  If you have a PDF of plans go ahead and email them to service@rescheck.info or click the submit plans box in the bottom right of your screen.  You have everything you need to get a Rescheck, Manual J, Manual S, or Manual D created.

The next type of plans that we see are hand drawn.  In my lifetime working in construction I have seen many hand drawn sketches taken from concept and turned into beautiful million dollar homes.  One of the best ways to get your project identified is to sketch it yourself.  We are here to help the home gamer – do it yourself Rescheck, Manual J, Manual S, and Manual D crowd as well.  If you have a set of hand drawn plans your first option is to scan the plan into a PDF and send it to us.  If that is not an option, grab your smart phone.  With today’s high megapixel cameras in every phone you can simply snap a picture of your sketches in good lighting and either email them to us at service@rescheck.info or upload them in the lower right hand side of the screen.  A bonus tip if you are having trouble with either one of these methods you can visit an office supply store and the staff at the store will generally be glad to help you email a picture of your plans to us at service@rescheck.info

The final type of project we see are homes with no plans.  Imagine your home was built in 1910 before building departments.  In 2019 you want to install an new HVAC system.  The building department will not let this happen without a Manual J.  A manual J needs a set of plans, what should you do?  Basically, you can email the information that you know about the home.  Square footage, jobsite address, exterior pictures are all helpful.  We can use this information in conjunction with tax records to work up an estimate of the amount of heating and cooling BTUs that your home would require when installing your new HVAC system.  Again, you can simply email these details to service@rescheck.info or upload them to the lightning portal in the lower right of the screen.

Whether you have electronic, hand drawn, or no plans at all.  We at Rescheck.info have the service for you simply email your details for Rescheck, Manual J, Manual S, or Manual D to service@rescheck.info and we will get your energy report created today.
