Rescheck Web Help Feature

Today on the Reschexpert blog we want to discuss a multifaceted function within Rescheck Web software from the Department of Energy. This function was added recently to the software and it provides users with so many useful options we would be amiss if we attempted not to discuss it with our fellow Rescheck users and Reschexpert blog readers.

The Rescheck Help feature is on the right and side of the screen of Rescheck Web. You will see a green box that contains the words “Help.” We feel like this is a good location for a help menu, because the end user can find it easily, use it when needed, and does not have to click on an additonal page to find the topics they are looking for.

As we look at the Rescheck Web Help Menu we will see that it contains 4 key functions:

Getting Started With Rescheck. This is a 3 Page PDF that will guide the new or experienced Rescheck Web User through the Rescheck software, Rescheck Report, and the steps to begin their online Rescheck report. This is a great Rescheck Help Resource and we understand why they placed it first on the list because of the wealth of Rescheck information that it provides users of the home energy audit software.

What to Do if You’ve Been Told to Do a Rescheck: This link in the Rescheck Help guide will take you to a well orchestrated video. This video is 8:34 in length but gives you hours worth of Rescheck info packed into a compact and easy to use guide for using Rescheck Desktop and Rescheck Web to create your online Rescheck report. I sometimes watch this video while I am creating my own Rescheck just because of the high level of information and guidance that it provides about the Rescheck software.

Rescheck User Guide: This is an 11 Page PDF that shows the users all the buttons and functions that Rescheck has to offer. Not only does it show the Rescheck User where the buttons are located with Rescheck Software, but it also discusses the functions of each buttons and helps with navigation. Rescheck Web and a Rescheck report has many different components. Throughout the 11 pages of this PDF it discusses each one of them in depth with pointers on which ones to choose and why. Every Rescheck project is different and this 11 Page Rescheck User Guide gives all the information needed to create a DIY Rescheck quickly and efficiently.

Troubleshooting and Helpful Hints: This section is the closest thing we have seen to the Reschexpert blog and we love it. Any software is going to have functions and areas that are more difficult to understand. Rescheck, Rescheck Web, and Rescheck Desktop are no different. This section contains some fantastic tips and hints about creating a Rescheck that anyone who uses the software will need on each Rescheck they create.

Overall the Rescheck Web Help section is comprehensive, needed, and a welcome addition to the online Rescheck creation software. It shows you how to get started on a Rescheck, what to do on a Rescheck, a Rescheck User Guide, and gives tips and hints for creating a Rescheck. We think this is a great addition to the software and use it daily.
